Losing My Illamasqua Virginity.

If you read my earlier post about Lush cosmetics, you’ll know that I went on a little shopping spree this weekend – which reached its peak when I was approached by Sophie from the Selfridges Illamasqua counter. Prior to this visit, I was a complete Illamasqua virgin, having only seen and read wonderful things about it in the past. However, due to uncharacteristic rise in my bank balance lately, I thought I’d treat myself…

I don’t even know why I’m posting this, as just thinking about Metronomy makes me a tad miffed (Decided against buying overpriced NME Awards Tour tickets for Manchester/only balcony ones left for Glasgow) but the stark improvement from their last album ‘Nights Out’ and the sheer addiction it’s facing me with led to other things. ‘Nights Out’ was an album I frequently tried to wean myself onto but, other than a ridiculous amount of plays of ‘Heartbreaker’, nothing else really stuck with me.

Avoiding the Derp with your Dippy Dip-Dye Do.

I decided to dip-dye my hair last week – with the mantra “If Alexa Chung can do it, everyone can and should” dancing around in my head. Obviously, I’d need to bleach my whole being and start over, if I wanted to look anything like the gorgeous Chung, but she’s definitely a good role model in the ‘cool stakes’. There are a few types of dip-dyeing that you can choose from, if you’re brave enough to get creative on your hair. You can choose from standard dip dyeing which is the more hippy-looking option, with a block of different colour at the ends of your hair, or the celebrity-favoured ombre look, where the hair gradually fades into a different colour at the ends.
