The Best in 2012 Festival Fashion.

For those of you who were lucky enough to attend Latitude Festival this year, your festival times may have been and gone – but for those of us looking into the future to the likes of Green Man, Leeds/Reading, End of the Road and Beautiful Days festivals, you need look no further for your festival wardrobe. Whilst festivals, if you’re of the female variety mainly, are often a ALT-off catwalk (props to those who carry off heels/wedges in mud), they also present us with a gargantuan challenge: how the hell do I fit all this shit in a rucksack and still have room for 300 face-wipes, 10 spare lipsticks and a portable loo? The trick to this is to think of your new best friends – layers.

ON REPEAT: Metronomy – The English Riviera.

Favourite tracks: 'The Bay', 'Corinne', 'We Broke Free' and 'The Look'.

I don’t even know why I’m posting this, as just thinking about Metronomy makes me a tad miffed (Decided against buying overpriced NME Awards Tour tickets for Manchester/only balcony ones left for Glasgow) but the stark improvement from their last album ‘Nights Out’ and the sheer addiction it’s facing me with led to other things. ‘Nights Out’ was an album I frequently tried to wean myself onto but, other than a ridiculous amount of plays of ‘Heartbreaker’, nothing else really stuck with me.  Continue reading

Life Lesson Learned: If you want to go to the fucking gig, get tickets for the fucking gig.

Same goes for howling along to your favourite lyrics or hanging on the every word of the lead singer… Gigs are just awesome. As a rule, I’ve had a terrible habit in the past of finding tickets of gigs that I really want to go to, then spending way too long deliberating about buying the tickets – only to lose them and be faced with buying them off eBay for stupid prices, or wait for their next tour. This unfortunate situation occurred last year when I was looking to buy tickets to see one of my favourite artists – Laura Marling.

Marling's "When The Bell Tolls" tour poster.

Posting in the Office. Whilst wishing I was watching The Office.

Accessing any interesting websites on the Internet whilst at work is risky business. A bit like stealing the last chocolate from the box, or having sex in a public place – except the gratification is nowhere near matched, unfortunately. Recently, I’ve been doing the odd few days a week where my boyfriend’s mum works; gathering a bit of cash during my holidays from university. This aspect is brilliant but, alas, the work I’m ‘set’ isn’t exactly enthralling or all that time-consuming, meaning that I have a ridiculous amount of spare time to kill during the day…

Here’s a list of websites to keep you going during your ‘working’ day:

What websites do you frequent when you’re bored?
